Wives, Focus On Your Own Fruit by Dr.Jené Walker

Wives if we walk in the Spirit, then the desires of the flesh won’t prevail in sticky situations with our husbands. The flesh makes us want to check on him, get him back, withdraw, withhold, nag, cheat on him, and ultimately leave him. In the flesh we are jealous, insecure, paranoid, domineering, vengeful, loud, loquacious, and flirtatious.

Walking in the power of the Holy Spirit gives us victory over the flesh. How do we know if we are operating in the Spirit with our husbands? Well if we are in the Spirit, we bear the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. In which spirit are you operating? Your Spirit is known by the fruits you bear. Walk in the Spirit regardless of how he is walking. God is allowing this test and this season for a reason. Crucify your flesh. Die to yourself daily. Focus on God and your fruit, not your husband and his. Jené Elaine Walker

It’s Fasting Season (Post 4): We Don’t Want Any Flesh Dr.J.

Die to Flesh today. There are several occurrences in scriptures in which we lost out on the promises of God because of our insatiable lustful greedy appetites. If we can’t operate in the fruit of the Spirit self-control in our fast it will also be difficult to control other ungodly desires. Exercise self-control today.

God gave the Israelites manna to eat and they complained and whined about not having meat in their freed state. They reflected on their awesome former enslaved state under Pharaoh during which they ate as they pleased. They murmured so much that God gave them so much meat it made them sick.

Be content this 1-day fast, 3-day fast, 21-day fast, 30-day fast or 40-day fast with what God instructs you to eat. The promises He has for you will be worth the sacrifice. Don’t murmur or complain. Be content with what you eat during this intimate time of sacrifice. Dr.J.

Numbers 11:18-20 KJV “And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the Lord , saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the Lord will give you flesh, and ye shall eat. Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days; But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the Lord which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?”

It’s Fasting Season (Post 3): Crucify Your Flesh Dr.J.

“You see, fasting means crucifying what I refer to as ‘King Stomach…’ He [God] will provide you with the grace to endure and see the breakthroughs you need to come to pass. However, you will have to choose to dethrone that ‘dictator within…’ It has been said that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Most women have come to know it, but we need to understand that the devil knows it too!”-Jentzen Franklin

The devil knows what fasting releases in the believer’s life. He knows what it means for your marriage, your relationships, your children, your faith, your spiritual wisdom, your vision, and the breakthroughs from the Master of Breakthroughs. So of course, he tempted you to give up the fast all day. Read how the devil has used food from the beginning to get us to disobey God. Think about this account in the Garden of Eden when you’re tempted to eat during the fast. Dr.J.

Genesis 2:8-9, 16-17 NIV “Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And the Lord God commanded the man, ‘You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.’”

It’s Fasting Season (Post 2): Some Things By Prayer and Fasting Dr.J.

Some of us have been dealing with demonic attacks in our personal lives or with our children or in our relationships. You’ve had these spirits on you so long that it has become demonic oppression. You have prayed. You have studied. You’ve even been saying confessions trying to engage the enemy. Your faith is strong. Why hasn’t there been a change? Jesus said “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” You are going to have to add fasting to your devotion of prayer to be released from the stronghold of these types of demons.

God bless you as you begin your 1 day, 3-day, 21-day, 30-day, or 40-day fasts. Stay in the Word. Dr.J.

Matthew 17:18-21 KJV “And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”

It’s Fasting Season (Post 1) by Dr.J.

Confirmation! When God tells me to do something, I obey. One of my sisters texted me and asked, “Can you lead the fasts like you used to do” corporately through social media? I received another inbox from a sister, “It’s time for a fast.” I woke up this morning and my devotional scripture was on Esther declaring a 3-day fast.

So, it’s fasting season. We fast November, December, and January to get clarity about God’s perfect will for us, spiritual wisdom, for vision, healing, and for intimacy with God. But as a result of our obedience, we get those things plus favor, miraculous provision, breakthroughs, spiritual stamina, and open doors.

Please be in prayer as we begin. We will consider a few types of Biblical fasts according to Jentzen Franklin:

1. Esther fast-3 day fast for favor in the time of crisis (no food or drink) (Esther 4:16)
2. Daniel fast 21 – day fast (vegetables, fruits, water) for understanding of God’s vision for you (Daniel 10:2-3)
3. Self examination fast (one day fast) check up on yourself spiritually things in me not like you (Leviticus 23:27)
4. Fast before battle (from day til evening) (Judges 20)
5. Fasting to lift God’s judgment from another’s life (1 Kings 21:27-29)
6. Fasting for healing (Isaiah 58)
7. Dominion fast (40 day fast) for dominion and authority and power of the Spirit (Matthew 4)

November (December and January) Fasting Plan
-1 day (weekly for 5 weeks) on Wednesday no food or drink
or
-3 days (weekly for 5 weeks or once in November) on Monday through Wednesday no food or drink
or
-21 days (November 1 @ 6pm through November 21 @ 6pm) fruits, vegetables, water only
or
-30 days (November 1 @ 6pm through November 30 @ 6pm) fruits, vegetables, water only
or

-40 days (November 1 @ 6pm through December 10 @ 6pm)

We will follow the same fasting pattern for November through January. If God tells you to go five days or seven days, be obedient to the Holy Spirit. You can’t just “diet” but you must study God’s Word daily and pray throughout the day. You must flee from sin and evil. You must meditate and listen to God when He speaks. You must obey.

Check in with me every day you’re fasting. Check my Facebook page daily for scriptures, devotions, and encouragement. Be in prayer for us. God loves us so much and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think. Hundreds of you have joined me before and I’m looking forward to what God is going to do in us through us, and for us during these series of fasts. Dr.J.

Is There Anything Too Hard for God? Dr.J.

Sometimes we allow the natural severity of the attacks to cause us to doubt the supernatural sovereignty of our God. Listen, it doesn’t matter how severe the enemy makes the attacks appear, nothing is too hard for God.

We’ve been getting some pretty powerful attacks from the battle happening in the spiritual realm. Disease, illnesses, especially finances, people being used against us, relationship issues, especially marriages, our own fears, anxieties, lack of faith and doubts from all the spiritual attacks, addictions, barrenness, and demonic depression have been prevalent. But God.

Go ahead and fill in the blank with whichever attack you’ve suffered these past few weeks or longer. Now that we’ve gotten that out in the open, “Is there anything to hard for God?” Ask the devil that when he throws up any of these attacks in your face. Then tell him, “That isn’t a rhetorical question. There is nothing too hard for my God.”

We have to stop being shocked at the severity of the natural attacks from Satan. He is going to use any of the limited power he has to distract and ultimately destroy you. There will be suffering in this life. We will have to go through the fire but we shall come forth as pure God. In the face of the attack, remember the sovereignty of our God. Remember the omnipotence and immutability of God. Remember that nothing is too hard for God. He is always in control. Dr.J.

Is It Really Love? 💜 Dr.J.

We can’t feign love. Love either is or it isn’t. If it is love, it’s real and it shows in your actions. “Love hates what is evil.” Love and evil can’t co exist. It’s evil to envy. It’s evil to be selfish. It’s evil to be easily angered. It’s evil to believe the worst about another. It’s evil to lie and deceive. It’s evil to cheat.

“Love clings to what is good” – good from you toward another and good from another. “To cling to” is strong. It means that you hold on tightly to what is good and you let all the wordliness and foolishness go. You find the good in another and you cherish it and value it. You never let go of the good through Christ who strengthens you.

“Be devoted in love” or be loyal in love. “Show firm and constant support through allegiance.” This can only be done through the power of the Holy Spirit and in the authority of the name of Jesus. Flesh can’t be devoted. Flesh can’t commit. But when you’re subject to God first, then you can be loyal to another. Be devoted to God and then you can be devoted in love toward another.

Now this is the true test of love. “Honor another above yourself.” Be quiet when you want to be disagreeable. Be subject when you want to be heard or seen. Show respect whether it is due in the natural or not. Stay when you want to leave. Love when you want to hate. Put his needs before your own. Put her desires before yours. Honor is another strong verb. To honor means to “regard with great respect” but it also means to fulfill or keep an obligation. We are obligated to love as believers in the body of Christ.

It’s time we get to real love, the next level in love and stop feigning love. God is not mocked. He knows when we are faking and when we are truly allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts so we can love better. Dr.J.

Romans 12:9-10 NIV “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

Titus 2:7-8 "In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us."
