“Procrastination: A Serious Spiritual Crime” by Dr. Jené Walker

Procrastination is a serious spiritual crime. Why? Because it means that we “know” that Jehovah tasked us to do something and we’re taking our time in doing it. Procrastination  is slow disobedience. Procrastination is delayed obedience. Procrastination is defiance. Procrastination is a sin. I don’t know why Lot came to mind. When the two angels came to rescue Lot from the demise of Sodom and Gomorrah, the angels had to coax them into obeying and leaving immediately.  Jehovah sent angels to warn them of the devastation to come and Lot and his family had to be “led” away. Why?

Jehovah has shown us the devastation to come if we live in sin but instead of immediately coming out of sin, we’re taking our time, procrastinating and lingering in it. Jehovah has shown us the blessings and rewards for our obedience when we start the business, write the book, start the ministry, leave the job, relocate, answer the call, start the prayer line, facilitate the Bible study, write the plan, write the grant, and secure the building but we are taking our sweet time. The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Jehovah wants us to know that “the thing” He has asked us to do has very little to do with “us.”  We are “vessels.” If we understood the profundity of the impact our obedience will have on the kingdom, we would move immediately. Why are you so comfortable procrastinating? Because the enemy has deceived you into thinking that it’s just a “personality trait” instead of outright disobedience, opposition toward Jehovah, and downright sin. Let’s go! When I tell you I’m about to get my journal out and revisit what Jehovah has instructed me to do and ask Him for a timeline… Tis NOT the season to be procrastinating. It’s raining torrential rains… I have a “reverent” FEAR of Jehovah. I bind stagnancy in our lives in the name of Jehovah. How will the kingdom advance when the body is stagnant?

“Where Did My Power Go?” by Dr.J.

Oh we are not unaware of the loss of our anointing. Anointing isn’t manifested in applause. No. Anointing is manifested in the transforming of lives; of yokes and strongholds being destroyed. If we’re honest, we know when we’ve lost the anointing power of Holy Spirit. We know when we’re performing versus transforming. We know when we are filled with and empowered by the Holy Spirit to complete an assignment. We know if we’re using our gift of gab or the prophetic voice of God.

So where did the power go? Did we share the secrets of our anointing on the lap of the wrong woman or man? Did we allow people to persuade us to do wrong? Are we offering defiled sacrifices and disobedience to God? Have we taken something for ourselves that doesn’t belong to us or that God told us to leave alone? or gained filthy lucre but tried to give it to God in tithes and offering? Are we living in perpetual sin? Do we have unforgiveness in our hearts? Do we have bitterness in our hearts? Are we engaged in sexual immorality in any form? If you’re not sure, ask Holy Spirit to reveal to you what caused you to lose your power. We need to find out because without the power of the Holy Spirit our work and labor is in vain; ineffective and well…powerless. Dr.J.

“What Are You Willing to Give Up? Dr.J.

Matthew 16:24-26 “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life[f] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”

What are you willing to give up? Jesus gave up His life for you. But Jesus also instructs us that we must “deny” ourselves. What does that mean? To deny means “to affirm that one has no acquaintance or connection with someone; to forget one’s self, lose sight of one’s self and one’s own interests.” This is powerful. When you read the next couple of verses, you gain even more insight into what will happen if we continue to try to hold on to the things of this world and save our worldly natural lives.

I remember when the Holy Spirit led me to tell my son about a particular rap song and what the song meant spiritually. I explained to him that often times we participate in things in this world that are pagan, anti Christ, and idolatrous which is sin. I saw his body language shift. I started praying. I asked him, “Why did you shift and sigh son?” He explained that pretty soon I would find something wrong with everything. I prayed silently to myself some more. I told him that God’s chosen people had to be particularly careful about our desires to hold on to the things of this world. Our ancestors, the Hebrews, were in a perpetual struggle to obey God and to stop mixing pagan practices with God’s commandments.

Then I explained that whenever we are uncomfortable with receiving the things of the Spirit, we must do a self-evaluation on the spot to test our own spirit:

What is wrong with finding something wrong with everything if we are required to give up everything that is of this world any way?

What is wrong with denying ourselves temporary worldly pleasure in exchange for eternal life with Christ?

What is wrong with losing our lives and the things we desire down here to find eternal life with Christ?

I told him that we must also test the spirit of others. If there is something Godly in what a person is saying, catch on to it in your spirit. Don’t throw it out because your flesh doesn’t agree with it. I told him that as believers with the seed of God inside us, we should always seek to do God’s will and to reject anything that is evil. We are to have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness. Praise God my son received the lesson. Whew! We began to have a deeper discussion about the Israelites and their continual rebellion.

We must begin to look at the world’s principles, ideas, values, concepts, and practices more closely. Why? Because we don’t want to gain anything of this world and end up losing our souls. What are you willing to give up?

Will you give up sexual immorality (i.e., masturbation, pornography, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, etc.)?

Will you give up the love of money and filthy lucre?

Will you give up worshiping pagan gods and practicing pagan traditions?

Are you even willing to research traditions that we’ve practiced our whole lives that may be sinful against God?

Are you willing to give up storing up treasures on earth knowing full well that we’re not going to stay here permanently?

Are you willing to give up smoking, drinking, or anything that defiles the temple of God, which is your body?

Are you willing to give up your idle time to develop a strategic study plan of God’s Word and spend time in prayer and study with God?

Jesus already told us that this spiritual walk with Him isn’t for the faint at heart. We would have a carry a cross to follow Him. Crosses are heavy. Crosses cause ridicule. You may be talked about and spat on. You may be crucified. You would have to give up your own interests and even connections with others with whom you’re unequally yoked. Is holding on to worldly things worth your forfeiting your soul? What are you willing to give up? Dr.J.

“Wake Up” by Dr.J.

Wake up. Spiritually. We have to let go of this world that is not even our home. Some of us are clinging to the things of this world – dishonesty and deception, money, houses, cars, sexual immorality (sex outside of marriage -fornication, adultery, homosexuality), drunkenness, idolatry (jobs, careers, education, social organizations, relationships, even marriage) – holding on to it with tightly clenched fists. Let go.

Let go of the things of this world. Set your minds on heavenly things. We can’t continue to straddle the fence – one leg in the world and the other in heaven. Make the things of God your priority starting today. There is an eternal home awaiting us. Set your minds on that heavenly home. Please do it now. Wake up Jews and Gentiles. Wake up people of God. Wake up unbelievers.Dr.J.

Who is Tied to Your Yoke? by Dr.J.

Who is in the bow of the other side of the yoke to which you’re tied? Are you equally yoked? If it could possibly cause you to compromise your faith and ultimately your relationship with God, why hook up with someone with whom you’re unequally yoked? Yes love. Yes minister. Yes witness. But do not become spiritually (or physically tied) with unbelievers or “said” believers whose life doesn’t line up with their profession.

Can light partner up with darkness? Can righteousness and wickedness hang out? Can Jesus and the devil be harmonious with each other? Someone is chasing someone down right now for him to slide his neck into the bow of your yoke to hold you back, weigh you down, and ultimately delay your destiny because of your own disobedience.

You two aren’t even headed in the same direction. You’re not spiritually strong enough to pull a hardened heart. Stop fooling yourselves that God wants you to stay so you can fix it. God said separate yourselves right now. You have too much at stake to stay tied. The load we have to carry is burdensome enough without dead and deadly weight. Untie yourself now.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally bound together with unbelievers [do not make mismatched alliances with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership can righteousness have with lawlessness? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

But then, Jesus said for us to take His yoke upon us because His yoke is easy and His burden is light. So, once we are free from the yoke of the world, we can connect to the yoke of Jesus. Dr.J.

Matthew 11:28–30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

“The Wealth of the Wicked” by Dr.J.

You’re looking at someone else’s life saying, “They’re blessed and they’re not living in obedience and surrender to God.” You’re allowing the “appearance” of someone else’s blessings to deter you from yours (They could be plagued with nightmares, demons, emotional issues and God knows what else.).
See in God’s providence, He can store up the wealth of the wicked for those of us who live in obedience and surrender to God. God will put the wealth of the wicked right in the hands of the obedient.

Proverbs‬ ‭13:22‬ ‭AMP‬‬ “A good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up.”

So, if God asked you to purge and give up things that “everyone else, including those who are seemingly blessed” are doing, you better purge and give it up.

We can’t live like, talk like, look like, dress like, drink like, cheat like, sex like, drug like, party like, listen like, and view like the world does. Don’t let appearances fool you. Everything that is glittering for someone else now may soon be your gold. Stay focused on God and do what God tells YOU to do. Dr.J.

“I’m a Doer of the Word” by Dr.J.

It isn’t enough to be readers and hearers of the Word. We better let the Word penetrate and transform our hearts so we can be doers of the Word. We know we are truly changed at work when toxic back biting and “under the bus throwing” happens and we’re not a part of it and we’re not afraid of it. We know we are truly changed when we are no longer posting subliminal or blatant statements to hurt someone even if they have done it to us. We know we are truly changed when we hear instructions from the Holy Spirit and we get convicted but ultimately, we obey.

We desire to be more than a “work in progress” and we don’t misuse “God knows my heart” but we really allow God to transform and purify our hearts. Let’s be doers of the Word. If we mess up, whisper “God forgive me. Holy Spirit penetrate and transform my heart. Help me to do the Word not just read it, speak it, hear it, and preach it. I want to just do it!” Dr.J.

James 1:22 NLT But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
