Matthew 9:17 NKJV “Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
Luke 5:39 “And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for they say, ‘The old is better.’”
We are forever being transformed and made in the image of Christ until He returns for us. A part of our transformation is deeper spiritual revelation. Holy Spirit is teaching us and as we grow closer to Christ, we become more like Him. But just like the Pharisees who were so rigid in what they “thought they knew” (about fasting in this parable), some of us refuse to receive the revelation from God.
Jesus says you can’t put new wine into old wine skins… Old paradigms – because of prejudices or counterfeit religion or hardened hearts or sin or spiritual blindness or elementary teaching or racism – have to change. But we must first surrender the old wine skins to receive new wine skins for the new wine. The Pharisees just couldn’t see it. They had the new covenant in front of them through Jesus Christ but they refused to see it. The laws and teaching of the old were better. Open your eyes. Awakening is taking place for those who want to see. Surrender. Dr.J. #Awakening
