Some of us lose faith because we look at our situations and circumstances with natural eyes. You have to have blind faith. Not blind in the sense that you are dull regarding the things of God and that you ignorantly follow Him. Blind in the sense that even though you can’t see God working out your situation, controlling your situation, resolving your situation or involved in your situation, you believe that He is any way. Your faith is so strong that even if you lose your job or get demoted or lose the love of your life or you have yet to see the answers to your prayers or your bank account says insufficient funds, you still have confidence in what you hope for and assurance about what you do not see. God is working in the supernatural realm.
Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV) “For we live by faith, not by sight.”
We began to get shaky in our faith when we take our eyes off of God and look at our situations. Ask Peter. Peter, in bold faith, got out of the boat to begin walking on water toward Jesus. The moment he took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the situation under his feet, he began to sink. If believers would truly understand that all your situations and circumstances are under your feet, you would see that you have power of your circumstances through Christ Jesus. If you look down, don’t sink, but think of the power you have to tread on scorpions and serpents and nothing shall harm you. When you look down, don’t sink but know that Jesus has help and protection all around you in the spiritual realm.
If we lived by what we see, we would be a spiritual mess. Live by faith. Read the Word of God for reassurance. Pray for your faith to increase. Ask Jesus to help your unbelief. Ask Jesus to open your spiritual eyes. Don’t believe based on what you see in the natural, but believe because God’s Word is true. Believe because of the God you serve. Believe because you know that there is a spiritual realm in which God is working. God has more for you in the spiritual realm than the devil has assigned against you. Dr.J.
