Do Not Be Like Cain by Dr.J.

There are people who come against you, not because you have done wrong, but because they have the murdering spirit of Cain. They work as agents for the devil and it is their jealous and envious spirit that gives the devil an open door to use them against you. They lie on you, conspire against you, slander your name, perpetuate rumors about you, secretly covet what you have, and plot against you while you sleep.

Your holiness, righteousness, and right spirit agitate them so much that they want to participate in the devil’s plan to try to destroy you. When they see you, you serve as a spiritual foil for them so when they are in your presence, your goodness and light highlights or intensifies their awareness of their own evil and darkness. This self-awareness causes them to despise you more.

Don’t be surprised that the world hates you. Don’t be shocked that people would do evil things to you. Because of the light of Jesus in you, people of the world will be used to destroy you. We know their impending doom of eternal death. God will handle the murdering spirit in the people who belong to the evil one. Dr.J.

1 John 3:12, 15 NIV “Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.

“In fiction, a foil is a character who contrasts with another character (usually the protagonist) in order to highlight particular qualities of the other character” (Wikipedia).
