I have been through some of the most fearful times of my life. I can’t tell it all (maybe in my 3rd or 4th book). But there were times when I was afraid I would lose my mind. There were times when I thought I would lose my job. There were times I was afraid of people plotting to destroy me. There were times when I was afraid I would never be loved like God wants me to be loved. There were times when I was afraid I wasn’t pretty enough, smart enough, pure enough, and perfect enough – until the Holy Spirit penetrated my heart and gave me a confidence in God that even fear can’t penetrate.
God is present with us and here for us. He doesn’t want us to be afraid. He will strengthen us when we’re weak and help us when we don’t have anyone else. I’m a living witness. But what really gives me a sense of joy and peace is knowing that God will uphold us in His righteous right hand. My God.
When we allow Satan to hold us hostage by our fears, God can’t release what He wants to release in our lives because we’re too afraid to trust God. Your mind, job, finances, livelihood, life, true love, and worth are all under the control of God. When you grasp that in your spirit, you can let go of fear. You can’t hold on to both. Dr.J.
Isaiah:41:10 NIV “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Wives fear will cause you to go into “self-preservation mode.” Fear will stifle you from giving your whole heart. Fear will cause you to withhold and withdraw. Fear will cause you to consider the thoughts that the enemy plants in your mind about what “he” is or is not doing. Fear makes you entertain foolishness about “him” from so called friends. Fear makes you devise a “backup” plan. Fear makes you “run” to protect yourself as if God needs help in that area. Fear makes you keep a secret account and…a secret lover.
Fear says, “Do not submit to ‘him.’ Do not honor ‘him.’ Cut ‘him’ down.” Fear causes you not to give him compliments because he may get complacent. Fear makes you compensate by developing an air of superiority- “I make more. I’m more educated. My title is more. My background is more. I’m more organized.”
Fear makes you check phones and phone records. Fear makes you follow and spy. Fear makes you paranoid that he may leave so you sabotage so you can say, “I ended this.”
Fear is a subtle slick sickening evil spirit that we have given too much power in our marriages but not anymore. Wives, we cast out the spirit of fear right now in the name of Jesus. We love our husbands with everything in us. God is in control, not our emotions. Jené Elaine Walker
The spirits that are contradictory to the spirit of fear are power, love and a sound mind. If we have a spirit of fear it does the following:
1) weakens us (no power),
2) causes us to act in hate (no love because perfect love drives out fear), and
3) causes us to act a little “cray cray” (mind is unsound and undisciplined)
When we have the spirit of fear on us, it weakens us because we can’t have faith at the same time that we’re operating in fear. Without faith, it’s impossible to please God so we are in a powerless state when we act in the spirit of fear.
How can we love and fear at the same time? I can’t love if I’m afraid you will hurt me, use me, take advantage of me, steal from me, get over on me, or betray me. I can’t love others if I’m in a perpetual state of paranoia. “I don’t know you. Why do you want to be my friend? You must want something from me.” You’re missing out on loving, blessing and being blessed because you’re in a selfish hateful state of fear.
When we’re afraid, we do some crazy stuff. Tell the truth. You’ve gotten in your car at 3am to drive (we won’t say how far) because you were afraid he had someone over. You have broken into her window because you were afraid she had someone else in there. You have temporarily lost your mind because of fear. You’ve lost self-control and self-discipline because of fear.
God calls us to operate in power, love and a sound mind, not fear. You have the power to cast the spirit of fear out in the name of Jesus. How long will you halt and limp between fear and faith? End it today. Dr.J.#donotbescared #fearisnotafactor #fearless
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
